ladies ladies ladies. this will be FUN.
(I remembered where I found this from) So anyways I went to this. And here’s the thing: every once in a while, when I’m feeling bored or reckless or _______ I will set myself, well, not challenges, but occasions when I say, Ok, Lil, time to put on your big-girl pants and get out of your tiny room and not go to work, or to Target, or to hang out with the approx. two people you know in the city.
And this was one of those times. And everyone there knew each other so I was awkward, and uncomfortable, and did the thing I unfortunately sometimes do which is revert to my high-school, shy insecurity. But then, I chilled out. Firstly, Cassie was super nice and welcoming and kind, and secondly I eventually just, did my thing and was comfortable alone amongst a lot of people, which I realize is something I’ll have a lot of chances to practice here.
And then on the way out I went up to Meaghan and was like, “You’re Meaghan, right? Ha ha the internet ha ha,” which demonstration of my social ineptitude I would have skipped but I wanted to know if I could buy Coming and Crying. And of course she was very gracious about it because I think you’ll find that most people are very gracious and kind if you give them the chance to be.
